Maternity Portraits
What would you have changed about your wedding photographer?
My husband is a photographer as a side job/hobby and he’s amazing at it! He has done a lot of family pictures, portraits, maternity, and children, but he’s doing his first WEDDING in April! He’s excited, but a little nervous, because he knows I was really disappointed with our photographer and wedding pictures. So I was wondering if you could help us out answering these questions.

Hmm, we loved our photographer so it’s difficult for me to think about what I would change.
I loved how when he would take a really great picture, he would stop and let me see the photo on the digital screen. Or he would show my mom a really beautiful bridal shot, just because. It was simple, but a nice gesture that helped me just take in the day instead of rushing through everything.
I had a hair issue, and he didn’t rush me at all because he knew it would get me worked up before the wedding. Instead, he said just go ahead and do your hair and we’ll get all the pictures we can before the ceremony, and then do the rest at the reception. He just took the pressure off me.
One thing that I wish we could have changed was the amount of time taking photos after the ceremony. I know it’s completely necessary when the bride and groom wait to see each other, but it felt like by the time we got to our reception it was already nearly over. All you need are the essential shots. When you get a good one, stop there and move on to the next. The bride & groom will be so thankful.
I am sure he will do great at his first wedding in April. The main thing is to just listen to the bride and groom and do what will make them happy!
